Greetings. As Chairman of the Hyunsong Educational & Cultural Foundation, I extend my sincere welcome.
In 1975, the Hyunsong Educational & Cultural Foundation took its first step through a private endowment from the late Hyunsong Chu Chang-kyun. For the past 50 years, the Foundation has focused on the single path of fostering talent for national development—despite many challenges.
We have pursued broad scholarship programs that connect science, technology, and the humanities through technical high schools and universities (including master’s and Ph.D. programs) and by supporting international students from developing nations. We have also supported research through the Hyunsong Engineering Award and the Zhu Xi Academic Award, and helped nurture underprivileged youths in local communities. In addition, we have been promoting athleticism by supporting school rugby football programs and fostering promising track and field athletes across elementary, middle, and high schools, as part of our ongoing commitment to developing future sports talent. Such a record stands as a source of pride for the Hyunsong Educational & Cultural Foundation and as a valuable asset for our society.
The Hyunsong Educational & Cultural Foundation now prepares for another leap forward in a new era.
Without being complacent with our past achievements, we will discover the talents required in this age and strengthen our institutional integrity through more transparent and open management.
I hope for this website to serve as a warm channel of communication that connects donors and beneficiaries who have been part of the Hyunsong Educational & Cultural Foundation, as well as every visitor.
I hereby ask for your continued support and active participation in the new future that the Hyunsong Educational & Cultural Foundation seeks to build.
Thank you.
Foundation
